The Space Survival System or S^3 (S-Cube) system will provide an airlock and housing, space suits, tools, robotics and repair equipment needed to perform extended work cycles in deep space.

A fully developed S^3 kit will include gear and supplies for nominal five years for a space worker, designed to be docked to larger space structures. An S^3 is based around a dual-lock plus berth "Freelancer" stowage module that ships into LEO for integration. It contains repair equipment, 1 hardsuit articulated space suit, main airlock with personnel hatch and workpod hatch. The module stores skinsuits, helmets and PLSS packs, personal and workpod robotics; the workpod docks to it. An inner airlock provides gear storage, a backup hardsuit, suit maintenance and cleaning equipment. A mezzanine area covers the full bottom of the module with construction/repair Maker, galley, head and main hatch, blow-out protected sleeping berth and stateroom. Water ballast surrounds the stateroom in most uses. The main hatch LIDS, CBM or other; it provides interfaces to Node, BA-330, SunDancer, FGB or other modules.

The system can safely house one person for an extended period "pioneer" style but is heavily complemented when used in pairs and quads around a Node. The modules are intended to survive years to decades of use with resupply or reuse while the components can be upgraded, often remotely via in-situ digital manufacturing. The intent is to closely follow the Linux/Red Hat model where advanced users contribute back into a community project while leaving room for economic activity.

The complete kit will exist as an open-source/open-component list but please provide attribution on these images:
